Hackathon / Ideathon

“SparkHack “ is an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge of circuits to real-world problems, to learn new skills and technologies, and to network with peers and professionals. It is also a platform for the department to promote the importance and potential of electronics and telecommunications in the society and the economy.

Participants will form teams of up to four members and choose from a variety of problem statements or themes related to circuits, such as smart home,road safety, security and privacy etc..

The event aims to foster creativity, collaboration, and learning among students, as well as to showcase their talents and skills.

Event Description: In this hackathon, participants will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity and technical skills as they tackle challenges related to circuit design, hardware development, and system integration. Whether you're a seasoned electrical engineer, simply curious about the world of circuits, there's something here for everyone.
Event Rules:
  • The participants have to form teams with 2-4 members.
  • The participants have to prepare a solution for the any one of the given problem statements within 5 pages and have to present it within 7 minutes.
Event Venue: E-Block E402
Event Rounds: Round 1: Presentation of the solution report.
Event Prize:
  • The winner will receive a prize of Rs. 3000, while the runner will receive a prize of Rs.2000.
  • All the candidates will be given participation certificates.

Event Name: ELECTA- Sparks of Creativity
Event Type: Technical
Event Timings: 10:00AM - 12:00 PM
Event Description: "ELECTA” is a dynamic and engaging circuit-based competition designed to foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork among participants. The event comprises two rounds that challenge participants to showcase their knowledge of electronics and digital circuits while promoting effective communication and collaboration within teams.
Event Rules:
  1. Basic understanding of digital circuit principles is encouraged
  2. Participants will form teams consisting of two members each. Each team will work together throughout the competition.
  3. Teams must adhere to the rules and guidelines provided by the organizers throughout the competition.
Event Venue: E-block / Digital Electronics Lab
Event Rounds: Round 1 : Teams have 2 minutes to memorize electronic components. One teammate then communicates component names and specs using sign language. The other teammate must correctly interpret signs to identify components.
Round 2 :Selected teams must solve real-time problems using digital circuits. Teams design and implement digital circuits to address specific problem statements. Time limit for analysis, design, and implementation. Judging based on effectiveness of solutions, correctness of designs, and teamwork.

Event Name: LineBot- Track the Line, Steer to Success
Event Type: Technical
Event Timings: 1:00PM - 3:00 PM
Event Description: The Line Follower Robot Competition is an exhilarating event that tests participants' engineering skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities as they design and build autonomous robots capable of following a predefined path marked by a visible line. Participants will compete against each other to demonstrate the speed, accuracy, and reliability of their robots in completing the specified course.
Event Rules:
  1. Team can consist of 1-3 members.
  2. Teams must adhere to the rules and guidelines provided by the organizers throughout the competition.

Event Rounds:
  • The competition consists of two rounds, with each round featuring a track of varying difficulty.
  • Round 1 will have a track of moderate difficulty, while Round 2 will feature a more challenging track.
  • Robots are judged based on accuracy in following the line and completing the course within a specified time.

Event Name: Innov8 - Dare to Dream, Dare to Innovate.
Event Type: Technical
Event Timings: 10:00 AM-12:00 PM
Event Description: The Idea Innovation Showcase is a platform for participants to present their creative and innovative ideas in various fields, ranging from technology and business to social impact and sustainability. Participants will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges and an audience, demonstrating their ability to articulate their vision, problem-solving approach, and potential impact.
Event Rules:
  1. Team can consist of 1-3 members.
  2. Teams must adhere to the rules and guidelines provided by the organizers throughout the competition.
  3. Team should submit a PowerPoint (PPT) presentation of their idea on the event day for evaluation.

Event Rounds: Round 1 :Rubrics Form Evaluation
  • Participants fill out a rubrics form to evaluate their own ideas.
  • The rubrics form includes predefined criteria such as originality, feasibility, impact, presentation, etc.
  • Participants assign marks or ratings to their own ideas based on the rubrics.
Round 2: Pitching and Evaluation of Self-Evaluated Marks
  • Participants present their ideas to a panel of judges
  • Presentations focus on key aspects of the idea and self-evaluated marks
  • Judges evaluate the presentations and compare them to self-evaluated marks.

Event Name: Secret Safari
Event Type: Non-Technical
Event Timings: 2:00 AM-4:00 PM
Event Description: In a Secret Safari, participants form teams and are provided with a series of clues or riddles that lead them to various locations around the college campus or a designated area. At each location, they must solve the clue to uncover the next clue or find a hidden object. The final clue leads the teams to the "treasure" or the ultimate prize. The team that successfully completes the treasure hunt in the shortest time or with the most accuracy wins the competition.

Event Name: Grab It
Event Type: Non-Technical

Event Description: "Grab It" is a high-energy non-technical event where participants race to collect as many specified objects or tokens as they can within a set time. It's all about speed, agility, and strategy as individuals or teams dash around, grabbing items while competing against others. The winner is determined by whoever accumulates the most objects by the end of the time limit. It's a fast-paced and exciting activity that adds a burst of adrenaline to any college festival.
Event Rules:
  1. Participants will form teams consisting of two members each. Each team will work together throughout the competition.
  2. Teams must adhere to the rules and guidelines provided by the organizers throughout the competition.

Event Rounds: Each team competes in a series of qualifying challenges against other teams.
Challenges are designed to test various skills such as agility, problem-solving, teamwork, and quick thinking.

Workshop

Automation is the process of using technology to perform tasks that would otherwise require human intervention. Automation can improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and safety in various domains, such as manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, and education. Robotics and IoT devices are two key technologies that enable automation in various scenarios.

This workshop will introduce the basic concepts and principles of automation, robotics, and IoT devices, and provide hands-on experience with some of the tools and platforms that can be used to create automation solutions.
